To describe the soul is to step away from the microscope of the brain and into the “poetry” of human existence. While the Brain is the hardware and the Mind is the software, many see the Soul as the “Electricity” or the “Original Source Code.”

At Frontida, we can look at the soul through three distinct lenses:

1. The Soul as the “Eternal Witness” (The Psychological Lens)

Carl Jung often spoke of the soul (Anima/Animus) as the bridge between our conscious ego and the vast collective unconscious.

  • It is the part of you that observes your thoughts without being them.

  • When you are doing the “Shadow Work” we discussed, the soul is the “Seat of the Table”—the core essence that remains unchanged whether you are feeling rage, depression, or joy. It is your unchanging “I Am.”

2. The Soul as “Blueprint” (The Purpose Lens)

In coaching, we often treat the soul as the True North of a person.

  • It is the unique “vibration” or “signature” that makes you you.

  • When you feel a “soul-crushing” job or relationship, it’s because your daily life is out of alignment with your soul’s blueprint. “Soul-work” in this context is about stripping away the trauma and the “bullying voices” to find the original design underneath.

3. The Soul as “Soma” (The Biological Lens)

The word Psychology literally means “The Study of the Soul” (Psyche = Soul).

  • Many believe the soul isn’t “trapped” in the body, but rather the body is inside the soul.

  • This is why deep trauma (like bullying) feels like it “hurts the soul”—it’s a wound that goes deeper than the physical flesh, affecting your very spark and will to live.

How the Soul relates to our Work:

The Burden The Soul’s State The Frontida Path
Depression The Soul feels “Distant” or “Muffled.” We clear the fog to hear the soul’s voice again.
Rage The Soul is “High-jacked” by the body. We calm the body so the soul can lead.
Bullying The Soul feels “Small” or “Fragmented.” We integrate the Shadow to make the soul whole.

A Peer Perspective

If the Mind is the map, the Soul is the Traveler. The map can be torn, outdated, or messy (trauma), but the Traveler remains. Our job at Frontida is to give the Traveler a better map and a sturdier pair of boots.

“The soul is the part of you that knows you are more than your history.”
